When your child or teen is struggling, it can feel like trying to read a map without knowing where you’re starting from. Maybe they seem unlike themselves, or perhaps everyday life has become harder than it used to be. Young adults can feel this way too: caught between where they’ve been and where they want to go. But I have great news: you don’t have to figure it out alone! Counseling should be a place where people can set down what they’ve been carrying, speak honestly, and feel understood. Together, we can make sense of what’s happening and find practical ways to move forward.
With more than 12 years of experience in social services and mental health, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy. By working in both outpatient and inpatient settings, I’ve developed a specialty in caring for those managing depression or navigating major life transitions. I’m especially drawn to working with adolescents and young adults as these years often involve discovering who they are and learning to stand on their own. For those who wish to include it, I offer Christian counseling that makes room for faith and spirituality in the healing process. I also welcome people from all backgrounds and beliefs, especially as your counseling experience should reflect your needs and goals.
Whether you’re worried about your teen, trying to find your footing as a young adult, or facing a hard season yourself, reaching out is a meaningful first step. My hope is that you leave therapy with more than just relief in the moment, and that you feel equipped with skills and insight you can continue to use. You don’t need to have the right words or a complete plan before you begin. Choosing to reach out - right here, right now - can be the moment that life begins to change.
